Windows 7 & DameWare fix!

When using remote control, the computer being controlled will show its pop up and act like everything would be working, but the computer you are using to control the other only shows a black screen and not the computers desktop! So you can’t click anything or control the other computer remotely because the desktop doesn’t come up correctly!

THE FIX:

(ON THE CLIENT MACHINE, THE ONE THAT WILL BE CONTROLLED REMOTELY)

Stop and change the following service to disabled:  DameWare Mini Remote Control

Then, browse to the following file: DWRCS.EXE

Example of it’s location would be: C:\Program Files (x86)\DameWare Development\DameWare NT Utilities
Keep this window open and now open your startup folder.

Example of this: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Using your RIGHT CLICK, drag the EXE from the previous folder into Startup and select CREATE SHORTCUT
Now, Log off machine and Log in again. Now go to the remote machine and try to control the machine you just did this work on. It should work correctly!
